Be unpredictable. Ken’s entire playstyle is centered around mind games and baiting and punishing your opponent.
-
Learn to use pftilt(the move ken flicks his leg straight forward in straight line) since if you can land that, you can easily combo into upair true dp/attack cancel back air/nair up air string etc.
-
Almost all of Ken’s moves have multiple degrees to which you can use them, ex. Down tilt has a short and long, his short is perfect for confirms with his inputs or up B.
-
Crescent kick (reverse quarter circle) is actually nuts. It combos into literally everything. Down smash, F smash, grab, down tilt, shoryu, nair, and even dair.
-
Search up and learn how to perform medium dp consistently, since medium dp(pretty much up b without fire effect and does the double hit effect) kills earlier then fire dp when you and enemy is airborn
-
I like Ken! He’s from street fighter.
-
Slow down, walk in and out of your opponent's burst range. Ken has very good punish so you want to find opportunities to open them up.
-
Shield break combo: nair - heavy jab - heavy roundhouse
-
If you can memorise what his inputs do and what you can do with them than you can destroy.
-
i like to just pressure with light dtilt and if it hits then your
open to a lot of combos
-
Ken's recovery is insanely inconsistent, if he's facing away from the edge he actually can't push backwards after up-b. I don't suggest spiking or trying to spam inputs before practicing them heavily
-
Double tapping left or right on the L stick while charging focus kick in the air will make you dash quickly in that direction, acting as a sort of super fast air dodge. Very helpful!
-
When playing Ken you have to identify when to move in on someone. Some matchups you can challenge aerials on people with no problem but others require you to stay on the ground. Stay unpredictable!
-
Nair, heavy close jab, crescent kick, true heavy/medium tatsu, utilt, utilt, true heavy/mid shouryu. Not always true, but can function as a zero to death
-
0% almost true combo, jab jab, light crescent, down smash, roundhouse. This will net you around 52%. If they shield, use the heavy roundhouse version to break it. Thanks 7.0 for cancelled dsmashes!
-
Play flow chart ken and unga buga them
-
Heavy jab into crescent kick into forward smash is amazing at the ledge
-
You can mix up the end of combos between true shoryu or roundhouse so they cant di brainless.
Short side b leads to tech situations at 0 which might lead to deadly combos

Ken has a death combo at 50 percent with rage and a shield break setup. the is the best character in the game
-
You can cancel out into a HCB + A and then true shoryuken to Ko at around 75 or 80 percent
-
Use combos that are awesome like this one: Focus Attack, grab, pummel, pummel, up throw, down aerial, Shoryuken. It does 62.8% damage.
-
Start chewing on your controller and you can rack up 90% and win neutral.
-
Don't use heavy tatsu... just don't.
It becomes +0 on HIT around 85 percent. It's fine if they don't know what to do, but a jab will almost always punish Ken for landing it.
-
When you play on a battlefield stage, double jump over the enemy and do a side B in his direction to get the first strike easily
-
Always remember to use his up b if the whole thing connects, it's a small combo by itself. If you have to, spam it.
