Tilts tilts tilts!!! All three of Lucas’s tilt attacks are useful! Down can start a combo, up is great anti-air with a disjoint and side tilt has a disjoint that can even KO at high percentages.

Aim PK-Freeze for where you think they'll dodge to, since your opponent is unlikely to stand still. It's okay to miss, just don't get greedy and risk getting hit if you're not confident.

Lucas' Down B looks like it only faces one way, but he automatically flips around to absorb shots at his back.

Lucas has multiple excellent spikes. Use them! Dair and bair both can easily secure stocks on characters with exploitable recoveries like villager or the spacies

Is your opponent on ledge at above 100%? Hold shield against them, and if they use their get-up attack, you can short-hop DAir them right back off the edge! This can even kill against poor recoverys!

When on ledge jump back and get on stage. Use rope snake when in the air to knock the enemy back a bit, then follow up against with another grab to throw them away from you.

Up smash kills at 54 fully charged and 85 (ish) uncharged, making very powerful for finishing stocks early. Bair spike onto a platform and upsmash has worked for me multiple times.

PK Freeze has deceptively low end-lag so use and detonate it early to bait an approach from your opponent.

Sometimes it can be safer and less risky to just jump or air dodge onto stage instead of the very risky and exploitable up-B recover.

if you get hit so you're facing away from the stage, use psi magnet to turn around so you can use his tether instead of pk thunder

Arguably PK Thunder is a better edgeguarding tool than PK Freeze

DJCZ (Double Jump Cancel Zair) is a great tool for Lucas, and can create very long strings against heavies. It can also be used as an extra ledge getup option. Be sure to practice it!

use pk thunder for edgeguards! it's very effective against those with bad recoveries. i've taken stocks at like 20% thanks to it.

If you launch an opponent off the stage use PK Freeze to finish them off!

Don't just throw PK-Fire and Thunder around, try to get your opponent in position for a follow up attack. Did they jump the fire? Bat them away.

If you want recover waiting to be down so you do not get hit while you're vulnerable and to avoid the ness down b or the mario side b. And against the characters with counter, choose rather the snake

B-Reversing is key. Mix up your movement by b-reversing PSI Magnet and PK Freeze

ZAIR/DJCZ!! This is one of his most broken tools ; cancels certain projectiles, movement option to shift momentum, can be edgecanceled, is safe on shield, combos , tech chases, etc bro learn this

Down smash is, in my opinion, an underrated edgeguard move due to how long it stays out with 3 hitboxes and that it hits a little below the ledge

Down smash is the easiest 2 frame in the game all the spacies lose to lucas

Zair's ledge grab range is absolutely disgusting. Exploit it frequently!

Lucas's down air can actually juggle opponents that are on the ground.

If you're looking for ways to improve your movement as Lucas then you should look into wave bouncing. Wave bouncing helps open up many doors for moving around as Lucas

Using up smash as a read is very useful plus it has i-frames, so if you read an opponents attack and they hit the I-frames they’re 💀

Want to be able to do more things in neutral? Learn to pivot back-air onto your foes! If you do, it combos into nair, dair, side-b, and forward smash!

Learn to move like Blucas. Learn noops, doops, boops, and all the loops Lucas has. Drag down nair > dtilt > ftilt/fsmash/dsmash. Ftilt down angle for two frame and not dsmash.

Lucas generally loses pretty bad to sword characters. DJCZ and Zair in neutral are usually your friend in losing matchups.

Up smash is a risk and reward. Its strong (unless at low percents) if it hits. And somehow can ledge guard if close enough. BUT there's a giant downsides. for one, END LAG is a huge problem. Part one.

Part two. Up smash also lacks on range and can be easily punished even in the move with ranged stuff. Ps if ur gonna get hit u may wanna up smash to block the players move

Using up smash when the opponent is on the ledge is a risk you can take but gives a stage spike. Pretty neat if you ask me.

don’t play like Blucas because he’s popular, he just randomly swings which works on wifi, but not irl. Learn to space yourself and calculate your moves instead of just pressing buttons.

One of the best tech-related tecniques that lucas has are dair loops. These are untechable, rack up damage fast, and it's easy to learn. Its possibly one of the best tools he has.

Dtilt can combo into itself.

Run up RAR nair then fast fall ( so you are on the other side facing the opponent ) d tilt pivot nair fast fall ( now on the other side of the opponent ) repeat, d tilt, grab, kill throw

Don't spam u-smash and get up close and keep knocking your opponent into the air with tilts. Down tilt combos. Use grabs a lot to force your opponent to try to zone you, which is where you want them

Chase down slower opponents with a bunch of Nair's. They won't have time or space to do anything but shield. If you hit their shield cross them up. If they consistently shield a lot, start grabbing.

Using PK Fire out of a short hop allows you to move while using the move, instead of being stuck to the ground and suffering quite a lot of end lag.

Do pk fire edgeguards or use pk thunder edgagaurd

Great Z-air, amazing spacing tools, and great projectiles. Weakness: his floatiness and not very many combo’s to pull of.

If you use Lucas over Ness, you should play more aggressive, not spam side-b as much, & be comfortable with a tether recovery. Spam grab.

If you’re playing Lucas, you’ve got something in common with him. He lost his parents, and you lost your last brain cells.

For edge guard use fair, dair and bair if it's safe BUT NEVER NAIR IT'S A TRAP !
