Pit Hero Matchups and Tips

Pit

B Tier

Pit excels at zoning and spacing thanks to his versatile Palutena Bow, which can keep opponents at bay while you set up for punishing combos. Use his Down Special, Guardian Orbitars, to absorb incoming projectiles and create openings for counterattacks, especially against characters that rely on projectiles. However, Pit struggles against fighters with strong close-range pressure and heavy punish options, as he can be easily overwhelmed if he gets trapped in a disadvantageous position. To maximize his potential, mix up your approaches and capitalize on opportunities, such as using Upperdash Arm to break through defenses or Power of Flight for evasive maneuvers.

Tips for Pit

  • People will always try to have a plan for your arrows as a pit player, so, basically don’t be a spammy player. Use it when they won’t expect it. Play like you would against a team, move around a lot
  • Down tilt leads into forward air at almost all percents
  • On low percents if you fast fall a nair go for a grab. On mid percents go for a down tilt or up tilt. On high percents you can go for a foward smash or side tilt if you wanna play safe.
  • It’s best to only use Pit’s Side B to either recover from ledge or break through a flurry of jabs from the opponent (except Zelda’s?). It typically kills around 130% if you’re feeling ballsy, though.
  • Down Throw to N-Air works at Low to relatively Mid-High percents, it's great for racking up damage.
