C TierRidley excels with his powerful offensive capabilities, making great use of his disjointed tail attacks like Nair and Fair to maintain pressure while keeping opponents at bay. His neutral special, Plasma Breath, can control space and punish opponents who approach recklessly, while the Side Special, Space Pirate Rush, can be a devastating tool if used sparingly to avoid punishment. However, Ridley struggles against characters with strong counterattacks, especially when using his Down Special, Skewer, which can lead to early KOs against him if timed poorly. Tips for Ridley
- Ridley has an incredible offstage presence. Don't be afraid to jump off stage and throw a few nairs or fairs out.
- Your tail is technically a disjoint. This means that it has no hurt box. You essentially have a sword tail. Because of this, Nair, Fair, Ftilt, Dtilt, and rapid jab all are disjointed in some ways.
- Side b if done from off stage to the ledge can grab opponents and place them under the stage. This is extremely effective for a 0 to death kill on a greedy player. Be sure to not spam this.
- Remember to make sure you don't Pirates Rush too much (side-B) as it contains a lot of endlag resulting in an easy punish. N-air is your friend.
- Down throw to skewer is not true. Don't use it unless your opponent has zero experience in the Ridley matchup.
