Ganondorf vs Young Link
Playing Ganondorf against Young Link requires a careful approach, as Young Link's projectiles and quick moves can make it difficult to close the gap. Utilize Wizard's Foot to approach cautiously, but be mindful of the risks, as Young Link can easily punish overcommitted moves with his decent knockback and disjointed hitboxes. In the air, avoid aggressive plays; instead, focus on baiting out Young Link's aerials and punishing with your powerful attacks. Offstage, you have the advantage; condition Young Link to use their Up-B early with Nair and Uair, then capitalize on their recovery with a well-timed Dair spike while recovering low to avoid their bombs.
Tips for Ganondorf vs Young Link
- Neutral: YL has decent knockback, projectiles, and little endlag. Ganondorf's literal bane, in every series. Patience, reliance on sheild, and Wizard's Foot can help you approach, but have huge risks.
- Aerial: High knockback on YL's Fair and disjointed hitbox on Dair make this tough. Try to not go too aggressive, using your second jump before getting Fair can lead to death. Bait and punish them.
- Off stage: Much more in Gdorf's favour, but YL's recovery is still more than adequate. Condition the YL to UpB early with Nair and Uair, then spike with Dair. Gdorf should recover low, avoiding Bmrng.
