Matchup Tips and Strategies
In the matchup against Isabelle, focus on using your aerial attacks and belly armor to mitigate her off-stage threats, especially when she attempts to recover. Since your crown toss is easily countered by her pocket ability, avoid using it and instead rely on your melee moves and counter to punish her projectiles. Be mindful of her Fishing Rod; if she whiffs, you can capitalize with a Gut Check or a strong aerial. Position yourself to attack from above, as this can give you an advantage while trying to avoid her faster movements and hidden projectiles.
Tips for King K. Rool vs Isabelle
This match-up basically denies you usage of your crown toss. If Isabelle pockets it, you can't use it until either one of you dies.
Isabelle can also pocket your cannonballs, but Isabelle isn't that fast so you should be able to punish a close-up pocket due to end-lag.
I would suggest countering her projectiles and using aerials, specifically when shes off stage.
Attack from above and use belly armor when off stage to prevent her from recovering, use gut check a lot and try punishing when fishing rod is in use.
