In the matchup against Shulk, Ryu should focus on playing a patient game, utilizing his Hadoken to control space and force Shulk to approach. Shulk's range of Monado Arts allows him to adapt, but he struggles up close; exploit this by zoning him with delayed Hadokens to bait out his approaches. Keep an eye on his jump patterns, as he may try to evade projectiles; punish any overcommitted aerials with your Shoryuken. Be mindful of Shulk's potential to parry your attacks, and aim to frustrate him by waiting for him to make risky moves, which can open opportunities for punishes.

prepare for a super campy matchup. It will mostly consist of ryu/ken waiting for shulk to approach, but shulk being hestitant to do so because of his lack of options up close
Shulk can change his playstyle at will. zone him out with delayed hadoken's. He can be parried easily. He'll want to approach you, so kill his patience until he uses risky moves.
