Lucario's Counter Picks

B-reversing and wavebouncing are vital techniques to master in order to take full advantage of Lucario's unique air movement options.

Characters that KO Lucario early are always at an advantage. The other issues he has to contend with is his short attack range, and his poor Out of Shield options.

Lucario's Down-B is more useful against projectiles and disjointed attacks. It's damage depends on Lucario's %. If used offstage, always make the attack go towards the stage.

Characters than can kill early or have easy kill confirms are bad matchups and vice versa.

It seems that lucario’s hurtbox priority is lower than most top-tier characters, so baiting rather than trying to trade is essential (along with the technique comment already posted here)

Protect your aura at high percentages zone with force palm and go in for the occasional readable counter. Don't charge aura sphere in small stages! Lucario's aura affects his smash attacks too

Remember that Lucario's aura sphere charge can confirm into a few different attacks depending on Lucario's & the opponent's %, as well as the opponent's size/fastest aerial.

lucario has multiple kill moves but the most notable ones are his back air, side b, his smashes and his up air. but be careful because you could be read easily if you spam only these.

Lucario can change the launch direction of Up-B by holding the left stick in the opposite direction at the end of the move (including impact), which can allow Lucario to KO people camping the ledge.

Lucario actually has true low-percent combos. They do not work at 0% though. Shorthop fair, then immediately either shorthop fair or another shorthop aerial after, and then maybe aerial or neutral b.

If you have spirits on then make a spirit team with a lot of trade offs so your stats get boosted and your damage goes up which makes you do a lot of damage.

Get damaged enough to increase your power, but don't get damaged so much that you end up losing one of your stock.

If the enemy likes to shield, side b and grab.

Whenever you're going to fight someone as Lucario just blackmail them their nudes and tell them that if you lose they will post them. Also make sure the person you're blackmailing is a minor.

Lucario’s up-tilt is a good option for an out of shield, as well as his side-B. Try and bait out an air dodge to punish with a fully charged neutral-B to confirm a kill.

If you see your opponent continuously using a move, try to bait them into using it and then down b

Play someone else, this character is TRASH.

Personally, I find it easier to use Lucario's Side-B (Comand Grab) while starting combos, mainly because there is a one in ten chance to deal extra damage; much like Skewer or Falcon Punch.
