Watch out for literally any projectile here’s two counter plays for charge attacker’s use poison gas for spammers like Mario and pikachu use ptooie or longstem

You can trap opponents that try to run at you with ptooie (spike ball). Also, don't be afraid to get hit; piranha plant is one of the heaviest characters so it's hard to kill him.

Plant has some excellent tools to counter snake. His poison cloud destroys grenades, making it a barrier for you. Also ptooie can be aimed at his cypher to destroy it and not hit him.

you can drop+dair from the platform on battlefield and immediately follow up with upsmash

Learn to space the ball and if the ball is close to the mouth it will shoot further

Landing nair combos directly into jab and if the opponent does not roll away you can grab instead.

You just need to know those matchups are completely wrong, people are just saying piranha plant is stronger for memes, or they are piranha plant mains. Keep in mind it's one of the worst characters.

You’re best bet is keeping your distance from character with limited projectiles. If you are fighting Ganondorf, it’ll be easier to try to resort to the down B and neutral B.

That dash attack is more powerful than you think. Ledgetrap by throwing out poison cloud, pitooie, dash attack

good character, poor optimization to play with others, speed and priority is lousy, preferable not to go crazy, the ball is broken but don't trust either, link and ryu's leg have More priority.

Use grab, then up throw, then either neutral special if the opponent is at low percent, or up special if the opponent is at high percent. Very useful and powerful combo!

I actually main Piranha Plant, but even I know that this matchup chart is completely inaccurate. He is a low tier character, he doesn't win that many matchups.
