Ness' PSI Magnet (down-b) can absorb all projectile explosions, including ALL of Snake's projectiles.

When your opponent is recovering, it’s a good idea to stand at the ledge, face away, and down smash so that the yo-yo can hang over the ledge. Makes it harder for most characters to grab the ledge.

Ness is a very good character in this game. He heavily counters Pikachu, a strong top tier, as well as snake. Ness gets countered by speed sword users and physical projectiles.

Make sure to practice recovering with Ness as he can be tricky to recover with. Recovering low always seems to be the better option in most cases as well.
