Sephiroth is a glass cannon, and he also has insane range, but a ton of laggy moves.

Dodge smash attacks, D-air, and up-B. Don't hold shield against side-B, stay away from blast lines. Use cape against neutral B.

Go for up/down throw to U-air to N-air/Up-B combos at low-mid percents after dodging slow moves. Hit with smash attacks (or grab and pummel to back/front throw near ledge) at mid-high percents.
